Civic President's MESSAGE
Ahhhhh, springtime in Florida, ain't it grand. Have you seen the sky-blue lupine blooming? And the green-eyes and woodland phlox on the roadsides; what lovely spring decor.
The weather and outdoor beauty make those spring cleanup chores a little easier. Garden prep, the first mowing of the year, replacing smoke detector batteries, clear the gutters in anticipation of rain, the list goes on. Better to get it done while temperatures are tolerable.
Our April speaker is DuWayne Sipper, Executive Director of The Path homeless shelter. The services The Path provide are one of a kind, for their clients and for our county citizens. For instance, the Path Farm and Co-op provides meaningful work for their clients and fresh, pesticide free, locally raised produced at reasonable prices. Come hear DuWayne's plans for increasing The Path's capacity and capabilities.
PREV is preparing a spring event for you that is no work, all fun: A fundraising fashion show by The Cotton Club, just in time for cruise season, quick getaways, or just being comfortable around your personal paradise in Pine Ridge. Our models have been chosen from among your neighbors so you can see how the clothes look on several realistic (meaning not perfect) body shapes. A mere $15 for tea, sandwiches, desserts and entertainment, AND all proceeds will be donated to the Citrus Youth Educational Symphonic Orchestra, Inc. Set your calendar for 1:00 on May 5. <x-apple-data-detectors://2>
Pine Ridge Pickers meet at the Community Center at 8AM on April 10 <x-apple-data-detectors://3> , which is the morning after our April Civic meeting. The more volunteers we have, the quicker we can spruce up our Adopt-A-Highway 2 miles along Pine Ridge Blvd.
Don't forget to send in your Civic Association dues of $15.00 per household.
