Pasture Maintenance Several people have asked me what they should be doing to help preserve their pasture grass for winter. The best information I can provide is sending a soil sample to the UF/IFAS Analytical Service Laboratories Extension Soil Testing Laboratory in Gainesville. Ask for a complete test, not just your PH, this will give you a good picture of the health of your pasture. The best start is to make sure the PH is right. Without the proper PH your soil will not be able to absorb the nutrients you are trying to correct. Use a time released fertilizer to get you through the winter and enjoy the weather!
